How does the official firmware act as a samba client?

Postby MartinHerrman » 17 Aug 2011, 22:19

I'm trying to get my custom firmware work nicely as a samba client. 2.00.14 recognizes the available shares on the network, but 2.00.13-m1 doesn't. A difference is the samba version, but also the fact that 2.00.14 has smbtree running continuously. I have started it with the same parameters, but then (as documentation of samba points out) the program ends after showing all shares available on the network.

I have created the same files on the same locations as in 2.00.14, but still no luck.

Does anyone know how the official firmware starts up smbtree, or how it calls samba?
