Upgrade your device

Introduction
If everything went well, you can now upgrade your device and try your new custom firmware.
Important check
If you do not feel comfortable about your firmware, don't hesitate to ask the forum visitors for help. Another thing to realise is the limited amount of storage available on the device. The total amount is 32 MB. The device has two partitions of this size; if it fails booting from one, it will try the second one.
Before upgrade your device, verify the size of your em7075.bin file. Is must not exceed 27000 K! Together with the .fff and .ver files this is approx. 30 MB. Keep within limits. If you need more space, you could use UPX or put extra .bin files on the external storage and mount it during boot.
Upgrade
Upgrade is easy. Get a fresh USB stick and put the following files at the root:
- em7075.bin
- em7075.fff
- em7075.ver
Or, for the EM7075-DTS version:
- em7075d.bin
- em7075d.fff
- em7075d.ver
Note that both firmwares are different and not compatible. (It's also not possible to enable DTS on a non-DTS device. It will simply fail to boot.)
Turn of your device, take out the power adapter, put the USB stick in the device and turn the power on. The device will detect the new firmware, follow the steps on the screen and enjoy!
Share
Of course, it is really appreciated if you share your modifications on the forum!
